The legendary Shashi Kapoor breathed his last on Monday evening and left the entire film industry in deep shock. Several filmdom members including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Naseeruddin Shah, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Abhishek Bachchan attended the actor's cremation and offered condolences to the family while others took to social media to express their grief.
Three days after the thespian passed away due to prolonged illness, a prayer meet was held at Prithvi Theatre, which was built by him and his wife Jennifer Kapoor, in memory of his father, Prithviraj Kapoor.
In attendance were his children- Karan, Kunal and Sanjana, his nephew Randhir Kapoor and other family members including Krishna Raj, Neetu Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Adaar Jain and Armaan Jain. The gennext Zahan Kapoor and Shaira Kapoor were also present at the meet.
The Kapoor clan also got together for a family photograph towards the end of the meet. Even though the photograph is incomplete, the Kapoor family looks as grand as ever.
Both Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were missing from the meet due to professional commitments. While Kareena was photographed at an ad shoot later in the day, Saif was occupied with the trailer release of his film Kaalakaandi. The father-son duo Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor were also missing in attendance.
Inside the theatre, the family had arranged for a picture of Shashi around which people lit candles and behind the photo was a montage on screen they played his popular scenes. The vafrieds guests paid their respects as his popular track Ek Raasta Hai zindagi played in the background.
Apart from the close family members, veterans from the industry were also present, including Gulzar, Kabir Bedi, Rakesh Roshan, Ramesh Sippy, Prem Chopra, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Subhash Ghai, Jitendra, Sanjay Khan and Asha Bhosle.
The likes of Ranu Mukerji, Nandita Das, Chunky Pandey, Soha Ali Khan-Kunal Kemmu, Hansal Mehta, Zoya Akhtar, Kiran Rao, Suniel Shetty and Sonali Kulkarni were also present.
