Laila Majnu Teaser: Imtiaz Ali is Back With Yet Another Intense Love Story

If you are a fan of Bollywood romantic dramas, you probably also adore the undisputed king of the genre, Imtiaz Ali. Aside from favourites like Socha Na Tha and Jab We Met, we also have Imtiaz to thank for Rockstar, the film that completely redefined the genre of romance.

The director is back with yet another unconventional love story-- Laila Majnu. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the film which is a modern day re-telling of the classic love story promises to bring to the fore Imtiaz’s intensity. The teaser of the film has been released and it seems to be extremely intriguing as it offers a sneak peek into Laila and Majnu's tragic, but a passionate love story. Imtiaz has penned the script for the film, while his brother Sajid Ali is directing the project.

Sharing the teaser on social media, Ekta Kapoor tweeted, "‘Pyaar mein pagal...’ We often wonder what it is to become crazy in love. Laila Majnu is exactly that. A new take on the legendary love story by Imtiaz Ali and film written and directed by Sajid Ali, releasing on 24th August 2018."

For the film we wanted a fresh approach in all aspects - a fresh cast, a fresh script and a fresh setting. We had a great experience making the film and can’t wait to showcase it to the world," Imtiaz said in a statement.
