Manoj Pahwa Reveals How Akshay Kumar's Prank Nearly Jeopardized His Marriage: 'It Could Have...'
In his recent interaction, Manoj Pahwa recalled that Akshay Kumar and Neha Dhupia played a prank on him on the sets of 'Singh Is Kinng', which nearly jeopardized his marriage.

Akshay Kumar’s reputation as a dedicated and punctual actor is well-known, but his playful side on set is just as prominent. He often enjoys lightening the mood by pulling pranks on his co-stars. One such memorable prank was recently shared by actor Manoj Pahwa, who co-starred with Akshay in the film ‘Singh is Kinng’.

Manoj recounted an incident during a shoot in Australia, where Akshay’s mischievous streak nearly caused a misunderstanding in Manoj’s marriage. After a day’s shoot, Akshay grabbed Manoj’s phone just as his wife, Seema Pahwa, was calling. In true prankster fashion, Akshay pretended to be Manoj, attempting to convince Seema of the ruse.

Though Seema quickly recognized that the voice on the other end wasn’t her husband’s, Akshay didn’t stop there. He roped in their co-star Neha Dhupia to escalate the joke, with Neha pretending to be an unknown woman who casually mentioned that Manoj was “in the bathroom.” Despite the elaborate setup, Seema wasn’t fooled.

Reflecting on the prank, Manoj shared, “Akshay tried to pull off this elaborate prank, but Seema and I have been married too long for something like this to work. We know each other too well.” Seema chimed in, confirming her scepticism, “I was like, ‘You can’t fool me.’” The playful moment is a testament to Akshay’s fun-loving nature and the close-knit relationships he forms with his co-stars, both on and off the screen.

‘Singh Is Kinng’ was a 2008 Bollywood action-comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The film stars Akshay Kumar as the lead character, Happy Singh, alongside Katrina Kaif, with supporting roles played by Om Puri, Kirron Kher, Ranvir Shorey, Neha Dhupia, and Sonu Sood.

The story revolves around Happy Singh, a carefree and well-meaning man from a small village in Punjab. Due to a series of misunderstandings and comic errors, Happy is sent on a mission to bring back a fellow villager, Lakhan Singh, also known as “Lucky” (played by Sonu Sood), who has become a powerful underworld don in Australia. However, through a twist of fate, Happy ends up taking over Lucky’s position as the king of the underworld, despite his non-violent nature and reluctance to engage in criminal activities.

The film blends humour, action, and romance as Happy navigates his new role while trying to bring about positive change in the lives of those around him. Along the way, he falls in love with Sonia (played by Katrina Kaif), adding a romantic angle to the story.

‘Singh Is Kinng’ was praised for its entertaining mix of comedy and action, as well as Akshay Kumar’s charismatic performance. The film’s soundtrack, particularly the title track, became extremely popular and contributed to its success at the box office. The movie is known for its vibrant portrayal of Punjabi culture and its light-hearted, feel-good narrative.
