The preparations for the shoot of highly-anticipated Kantara: Chapter 1 are in full swing. As per the latest reports, exciting new information about the film’s shoot is making rounds on the internet. The reports revealed that a massive 200 by 200 feet set has been developed by the makers in Kundapura, Karnataka. It is the hometown of the film’s lead and director, Rishab Shetty. The shoot is expected to commence in a week, and is scheduled for 20 days. The reports state further that while a major part of the film is going to be shot in the forest, the huge set will consist of a dubbing studio and an editing suite, constructed with full air conditioning.
Reportedly, 600 skilled carpenters and stunt masters are hired for the construction of the set from places like Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. They have been settled in Kundapura for its development. It is being said that the set is one of the largest in the country since the Ramoji Film City. The film’s cast is training in Kalaripayattu and horse-riding at the place, all under the single roof.
The prequel’s production house, Hombale Films, is hoping to utilise the property for more projects in the future, while making it available on rent for other productions, reports add.
Dubbed as a period action-thriller, Kantara: Chapter 1 is being helmed by Rishab Shetty. It is the prequel to the 2022 blockbuster, Kantara. The cast includes Rishab Shetty as the lead along with Sapthami Gowda, Achyuth Kumar, and Shine Shetty. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films. B Ajaneesh Loknath is composing the music, while the cinematography is done by Arvind S Kashyap and the editors are K M Prakash and Pratheek Shetty. According to more information, a budget of Rs 125 crore is allotted for the release. Kantara: Chapter 1 is expected to have its theatrical release later this year.
Kantara was released on September 30, 2022 and was made on a budget of Rs 16 crore. It went on to collect more than Rs 400 crore at the box-office.
