Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat that released on January 25th despite protests in a few states, is all set to cross the 100-crore mark in its opening weekend.
The film, starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, opened to mixed reviews, but has managed to impress the viewers with its grandeur and strong performances. After minting over Rs 5 crores from paid previews on January 24, Rs 19 crore on January 25 and Rs 32 crore on January 26 and Rs rs 27 crore on January 27, the film has raked in a total of Rs 83 crore so far.
The film is all set to march past the Rs 100 crore mark and while it might have already crossed the mark, the figures haven't been out yet. The trade analysts, however, continue to predict an even brighter future for the film.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the film's earnings and wrote that the film continues to "sparkle" at the Box Office. "Business on Saturday (after a big holiday on Friday) was exceptional. Will comfortably cross Rs 100-crore mark today," he said.

The film has been mired in controversies ever since its inception with fringe outfits accusing Bhansali of "distorting historical facts" and showing the Rajput community in a bad light.
