Samantha Ruth Prabhu has come a long way in showbiz with rich content driven and commercial films. She has ranked no. 13 on IMDb’s list of Top 100 Viewed Indian Stars of the last decade. With this Samantha is

the only female actor from the South to be featured in the top 15. She’s won hearts of audiences – right from her Telugu films performances to her jaw dropping role of Raji in Family Man and lots more. Her performance in the special song for Allu Arjun’s Pushpa earned her glorious appreciation making her and the song one of pat decades biggest highlights.

Talking about being featured on this coveted list and being the only female actor from the South, Samantha says, “This is the sum total of the efforts of all the directors, writers and producers who have contributed to this and the incredible love and faith that the audience has shown me. Talking about Samantha and her aura as of the past decade’s most loved actors, an trade insider says, “Being an artist first in her heart, she’s always been someone who’s immensely committed to the craft. With Family Man 3 and Citadel on the anvil for her as an actor, she has also taken on the mantle of a producer with her venture Tralala Moving Pictures and has an edgy and gritty multi-lingual thriller Bangaram which will go on floors soon. Samantha Ruth Prabhu was born to Joseph and Ninette Prabhu in Chennai in 1987. In 2022, while speaking to students at a university, she recalled that her parents had no money for her higher education. “When I was studying, my parents told me to study hard and I would make it big. I studied hard. I completed 10th grade, 12th grade and college. But then when I wanted to study further, my parents couldn’t afford it. I had no dreams, no future, nothing,” she was quoted as saying.

She also revealed that she often didn’t even have money for food. “I ate only one meal a day for at least two months. I worked odd jobs. And here I am today,” she added. In 2012, Samantha was ill for a long period, which forced her to give up two big projects. It was later revealed that it was an immunity disorder. The disease resurfaced in 2022 and Samantha revealed that it was myositis, for which she underwent extensive treatment. She said that while the disease is manageable, it can also be life-threatening in some cases.
