Tamannaah Bhatia Lauds Urmila Matondkar For Doing Horror Films: ‘Iss Kisam Ka Performance Humne Dekha Nai’

Tamannaah Bhatia and Raashii Khanna are all currently seen in the horror film Aranmanai 4. The film has emerged as a box office hit. The fourth instalment of Aranmanai was directed by Sundar C and star himself, Tamannaah Bhatia and Raashii Khanna in the lead roles. The film was released on May 3. Today, the cast appeared for a promotion, and Tamannaah Bhatia was seen praising Urmila Matondkar for doing horror films during her career.

The actress said, “Bahot Bahot.. sab hil gaye the kyunki iss kisam ka performance humne dekha nai tha. Aur unse aisa role expect nai kiya tha. Lekin ek English film jo shayad maine issi theatre mein dekhi the. No this one but it was around this area. It was House of wax. And usmein vo maar deta hai. AlagA lag tareeko se vo wax istemal karke maar deta hai. Uske baad main waxing nai paati the. Everytime I want to go for waxing  I would think of this man trying to kill people who is killing people by putting wax and strange things. That was bit traumising. Mujhe cherkhani zyada pasand nai hai. Main toh bahot darti hu. I am actually the audience jo aise horror film dekhna pasand karti hai.. kuch hua kya, kuch hua kya. So that’s me watching a horror film.”

Urmila Matondkar was lauded for her performance in Kaun. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, it is written by Anurag Kashyap it and also starred Manoj Bajpayee and Sushant Singh.

Coming back to Aranmanai 4, It had a decent opening of Rs 4.65 crore, before gaining pace in the following weekend. In its first weekend, the film garnered Rs 14.5 crore. With an average of Rs 3 crore for the next few days, the movie collected Rs 32 crore in its first week. In its second week, it earned Rs 8.55 crore. In its second week, the film collected Rs 49.25 crore.

Initially, Vijay Sethupathi was selected for the lead role in the film. Due to scheduling conflicts, he had to step down. Sundar C later helmed the role. Santhosh Prathap secured a pivotal role alongside Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Delhi Ganesh, Rajendran and Singampuli. In the Telugu dubbed version, Vennela Kishore and Srinivasa Reddy were cast instead of Yogi Babu and VTV Ganesh.
