Malayalam actor Saiju Kurup starrer Bharathanatyam will be released at the cinema halls on August 30, 2024. Makers of this film have now heightened the anticipation by unveiling its teaser on August 28. The teaser shows Saiju playing Sasi, an optimistic but unemployed man who is often mocked by his relatives for his lack of practical choices in life.
He is seen arguing with another man, played by Abhiram Radhakrishnan. It is unclear why the two are at loggerheads. Overall, the teaser hints at an intriguing storyline for the audience. Krishnadas Murali has written and directed this film. Kalaranjini, Sruthy Suresh, Ganga Meera and others have also acted in Bharathanatyam. Saiju Kurup Entertainments and Thiruvalla Films have backed Bharathanatyam.
Social media users loved the teaser and many of them expressed special admiration for the director Krishnadas. Bharathanatyam marks his directorial debut. Samuel Aby composed the original soundtracks and music of this film. Bharathanatyam, Saiju Kurup’s first production, was slated to hit the theatres on August 23. However, now it has been postponed to August 30. Makers didn’t reveal the reason behind the same.
Saiju began his career in 2005 with the director T Hariharan’s Mayookham. Despite starting his career in a hit film like Mayookham, he had to wait for 5 years to become a renowned actor. The Bharathanatyam actor accepted it in an earlier interview with the OTT Play. He said, “Yes, I think till Trivandrum Lodge released on September 21, 2012. Before that, there were phases when I didn’t have movies. But after that, I kept watching movies regularly. Trivandrum Lodge was like an ‘oxygen cylinder’ to my career."
Trivandrum Lodge, directed by VK Prakash and Anoop Menon, received positive reviews from the audience with many appreciating Saiju’s acting prowess. Saiju played the role of Shibu Vellayani in this film.
Saiju Kurup will play a significant role in the film Cop Uncle directed by Vinay Jose. This film stars Dhyan Sreenivasan, Aju Varghese and others in important roles. Cop Uncle is currently in the production phase and is expected to be released at the cinemas in 2024.
