Two highly anticipated Kannada movies are all set to clash at the box office on the same day on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, ie, March 8. Yogaraj Bhat’s Karataka Damanaka featuring Shivarajkumar and Prabhu Deva and Guruprasad’s Raganayaka headlined by Jaggesh will be locking horns at the theatres. Recently, Yogaraj Bhat shared his opinion regarding the box office clash.
At Hubbalii Press Club, Karataka Damanaka said, “We have no competition, whatsoever. We are all friends.” He further added that he is friends with both Jaggesh and Guruprasad. He said that he has also acted in the upcoming movie, Raganayaka. He believes that one day all his friends will appear on the screen together and it is quite a “fun thing”. He clarified that “there is no question of competition here”.
Karataka Damanaka also stars Priya Anand and Nishvika Naidu. The movie is centred around friendship and love and is a family entertainer filled with elements of fun, laughter and a great message to society. The movie is backed by Rockline Venkatesh who is currently basking in the success of Kaatera. Meanwhile, Raganayaka is bankrolled by AR Vikhyath under the banner of Vikhyath Chitra Productions.
It is the third movie that will see Guruprasad and Jaggesh collaborate. Previously, the duo have worked in Eddelu Manjunatha and Mata. Raganayaka also stars Rachitha Mahalakshmi. It is a fictional comedy-drama based on a king played by Jaggesh. It is touted to be a political satire and is set in two different eras. The movie is being produced by Vikyath who has also produced movies like Pushpaka Vimana, Monsoon Raga and Inspector Vikram under the banner of Vikyath Chitra Productions.
Both movies have created much hype and buzz online and fans are eagerly waiting to catch the movies on the big screen. Raganayaka and Karataka Damanaka also gained attention for their plot, cast and director-actor collaboration.
Yogaraj Bhat directed the 2023 movie titled Garadi featuring Yashas Surya, BC Patil, Sonal Monteiro and Tejaswini Prakash. The movie received mixed reviews from viewers and critics alike.
