Allu Arjun’s relationship with the Konidela family is well known. The two families are related as Allu Arjun’s grandfather Allu Ramalingaiah was the father-in-law of Chiranjeevi. Collectively called the Allu-Konidela family, both clans have been influential in both cinema and politics. Chiranjeevi’s brother Pawan Kalyan founded the Jana Sena Party and has been contesting elections for years. While his brothers Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu are not part of the JSP, they have campaigned for the party. So when talk of Allu Arjun joining politics came to the fore, people thought he would either join the Jana Sena Party or the Bharat Rashtra Samithi party, of which his father-in-law Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy had been a prominent member.
However, a major shift in dynamics took place on Friday as Chandrasekhar Reddy joined Congress along with a bunch of other former BRS leaders.
Reddy reportedly did not get a party ticket from BRS to contest Nagarjuna Sagar, which was instead given to Nomula Bhagath. Dissatisfied by this development, Reddy joined the Congress, which will field him from the Malkajgiri constituency. Now, all eyes are on Allu Arjun as fans await to see whether he will be seen campaigning for his father-in-law.
After joining the Congress party, Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy startled everyone by telling the reporters that his son-in-law Allu Arjun would campaign for him and strive towards his election success. While Reddy has expressed his confidence that Allu Arjun would campaign for him, the iconic star himself has not made any such statement yet and it remains to be seen if he will truly do so.
The Congress is gaining ground in Telangana, but in Maharashtra, it has suffered serious blows as prominent figures like Ashok Chavan, Baba Siddique and Milind Deora have left the party in recent weeks. Siddique joined Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party, Deora joined Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Chavan joined the BJP.
