Darshan Thoogudeep is a very well-known face in the world of Kannada film industry. He is known by the name of Challenging Star. He was given the name for the hard work and dedication he put in all the work he has done to date. He has inspired many actors and actresses with his fine skill of acting. Today, he is a role model for many who aspire to be a successful actor.
Another such challenging role was in the 2003 Kannada movie Namma Preethiya Ramu, where he played the role of Ramu. While portraying the role of Ramu, the actor had to act like a blind person which he did with perfection. To look natural in the film, Darshan did not wear his lenses. Fans believe that this was the reason why Darshan’s acting was picture-perfect.
The 47-year-old actor showcased some brilliant skills in acting in the film. Though it is very difficult for a person to see without lenses, Darshan decided to shoot the film without his lenses showing his dedication towards the film. Soon after the completion of the shoot, the actor had to undergo eye surgery. The film was released in the year 2003 but to date, Darshan faces various issues with his eyes. At times he also experiences pain in his left eye. These type of efforts speaks about the efforts an actor puts in to make a film successful.
The Kannada film revolves around the life of Ramu who is visually impaired. He earned his living by singing. As the film goes on Ramu meets with a man who promises him his eyesight but later it is known that the man had some evil motives. The film is a musical drama directed by Sanjay-Vijay and produced by G Nandakumar and B P Rame Gowda under the banner of Vishwapriya Films studio. Darshan and Navya Natarajan were seen in the main roles along with Doddanna, Hamsavijetha and Umashree. Though Darshan’s acting was very inspiring, the film failed to leave its mark at the box office.
