Parineeti Chopra made her Bollywood debut with the 2011 film Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, and since then, there has been no looking back. She has starred in several popular films, the most recent being Amar Singh Chamkila. The actress received much appreciation for her impressive performance in the Imtiaz Ali-directed biographical drama. On the occasion of her 36th birthday, let’s look back at the time when the actress shared which film she would want her niece, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, to watch once she grows up.
Parineeti, who shares a lovely bond with her cousin Priyanka Chopra, said that she would want her niece to watch Hasee Toh Phasee, co-starring Sidharth Malhotra. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actress called her 2014 film “kid-friendly” and shared, “If MM had to watch any of my films, it would have to be Hasee Toh Phasee because that’s my most kid-friendly film.” She continued, “I would want her to know that Tisha Maasi is a crazy person, and Hasee Toh Phasee would give her that craziness.”
Hasee Toh Phasee, directed by Vinil Mathew, has received a cult status amongst the audience. The film’s storyline revolves around a love triangle, and the audience loves it because of its simplicity.
For those who don’t know already, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed Malti Marie in early 2022 via surrogacy. Previously, Parineeti talked about her niece and called her the most beautiful baby in the world. In an old video shared by a fan account, Parineeti was heard saying, “She is the most beautiful baby in the world. They (Priyanka and Nick) had shared her journey. She had a bit of a rough start, but she is healthy now. She’s a beautiful baby. I don’t want to talk much about her, but she is my little baby.”
Speaking of Parineeti Chopra, she celebrated her second Karwa Chauth with her husband Raghav Chadha and in-laws in New Delhi. On October 20, she took to her Instagram account to share a series of pictures featuring glimpses from the intimate celebrations. Parineeti’s post opened with an image of Raghav applying sindoor. She then shared a selfie, proudly flaunting her sindoor, followed by a playful shot of Raghav tugging her hair.
The pair also enjoyed a peaceful stroll through their lush garden. In the concluding pictures, the actress was seen performing Karwa Chauth rituals alongside other women, even showing off her minimal mehendi to her husband and fans. For the festival, Parineeti slipped into a pink embroidered sharara set, accessorised with delicate earrings, whereas Raghav wore a greyish kurta pyjama paired with a half jacket. Sharing the pictures, she wrote, “My moon and my stars …Happy Karwa Chauth love of my life! @raghavchadha88.”
