The Hrithik Roshan Kangana Ranaut legal battle has now taken an ugly turn with Kangana’s former boyfriend, actor Adhyayan Suman coming out and revealing very violent details about their former relationship.
Never in her wildest dreams did Kangana imagine that referring someone as a ‘silly ex’ would cost her so much, literally. From being accused of stalking, being mentally unstable to apparently mixing her own blood while cooking meals- Kangana has been called a lot of things- none too good.
Now let’s take a step back here and analyse a few things. Two of our country’s most loved actors are having a very public fight with legal notices being slapped on each other almost every day. On one hand, Hrithik is trying very desperately to come clean of the whole episode- stating that his issues are with the impostor who was having long conversations with Kangana and not with the actress herself. Also, he wants her to apologize publicly for referring to him as her ex. On the other hand, Kangana alleges that Hrithik was indeed in a relationship with her and that he infact hacked into her account to delete his replies to her.
In an ideal world, when Police and other legalities are involved, the two involved parties are not supposed to discuss the case publicly. Something that most of our celebrities abide by the minute their names are embroiled in some scandal (or not). But not in this case. Leaked mails, photos from happier days, denials etc all are happening in full public view. Both sides are trying to desperately prove that they are right. Each day, one party comes up with some proof and that makes us, the general public, lean towards them.
If this story has a typical ‘hero’ and ‘heroine’, it also has a supporting cast in the form\ of exes. Hrithik’s former wife states photos of him and Kangana are photoshopped. Kangana’s ex, a nobody in the film industry, Adhyayan Suman, claims that the relationship in question was always one sided. And then, he goes on to tell the world his own drudgery from the time he was dating the actress.
But my point is, why does someone who has maintained silence for five years or more, suddenly want to reveal all the dark secrets of his relationship? As a journalist, our job might be to go and ask a former partner of the actress, but as an individual, Suman has the liberty to keep mum- just the way he has all these years. Now, that would have been more dignified.
When two individuals fight, we often want people to back us up, tell us that we are right and that the other person is wrong. There are multiple advises that come our way, some biased, some unbiased. But at the end of the day, it is a fight between two individuals and a third person should not get involved.
And that’s exactly why we shouldn’t pay heed to the whole Hrithik-Kangana war anymore. Because we may keep changing sides, but all this mud slinging is harming these two actors and their image the most.
Perhaps, it was naïve or rather an irrational decision on Roshan’s part to slap a legal case on her for something as little as a comment at some obscure event. Had he maintained a dignified silence on the matter from the very beginning and not reacted at all- this would have died down almost immediately. Because in showbiz, so much happens on a daily basis that there is really no time to sit and ponder on who called whom a ‘silly ex’. Roshan should have known the comment would have been discussed for exactly two days and then been forgotten.
The fact that two grown up individuals are having such a public fight says a lot about their maturity but we as the public, do not have to be a party to it. We can of course, continue to love them and their work, enjoy their movies.
But their fight is their own and definitely not our business.
