Renowned filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar posted a video featuring veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty on the set of the film ‘Shastri.’ The actor had been hospitalised due to chest pain and weakness.
The video began with Madhur informing viewers that he was present on the sets of ‘Shastri’ with the esteemed actor. “I am in Kolkata on the sets of Shastri, and I am with none other than the great Mithun Chakraborty, Mithun da,” Madhur said.
Praising the filmmaker, Mithun is heard saying in the video, “I have known this man (Madhur) since his young age. He used to sell video cassettes. My wife would call him and say, ‘Madhur, I need this cassette,’ and he would come. Now look, this man is a five-time National Award winner. This only happens when your dream comes true. I always tell people that your dreams should come true. Hard work and all will happen, but dreams should come true.”
The director also included a caption with the video, “I met mithun chakraborty in Kolkata and was thrilled to see him back on set, in great health. My bond with Mithunda dates back to my teen years when I used to deliver video cassettes. He has always been a source of courage and inspiration.”

Mithun Chakraborty was hospitalised on February 10 due to an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) affecting the brain. He was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Kolkata after experiencing discomfort and chest pain. He was released from the hospital on February 12 after receiving treatment.
In a recent interview with news agency IANS, the actor, discussed his negligence towards his health. “I eat like a demon. So I was punished. My advice for everyone is to control your diet. Those with diabetes should not assume that indulging in sweets won’t impact them. Manage your diet,” he advised.
Last month, Mithun Chakraborty was awarded the Padma Bhushan for his significant contributions to the Indian film industry.
