The crime drama The Freelancer has made waves ever since the release of its first part in September this year. It created a lot of anticipation among viewers to know how the story unfolded. The second installment, The Freelancer: The Conclusion, was finally released this December, much to the delight of curious fans. While the series has been lauded for its nerve-wracking thrill and intriguing action sequences, making this well-crafted series was indeed a challenging task. Recently, the makers released a short behind-the-scenes clip, giving viewers a glimpse of the captivating action in the series.
In the BTS clip, Mohit Raina, who leads the series, says, “The action of Freelancer is very different, you know, the action has to be larger than life and at the same time very realistic. Even the ammunition, the guns and everything that has been used is very fresh and very raw and technically it is on the high end I would say." The video takes the viewers through some of the crucial action scenes and gives a closer look at the weapons. Even the director and team are seen instructing the actors so as to brings out the best impact in the scene. Mohit Raina opines that the action in Freelancer are “always fast moving, there is no breather."
Sharing about his experience working on The Freelancer, Mohit Raina had earlier said “Well every script comes with its own challenges, so did The Freelancer. Portraying someone who has lost a child can be very traumatizing. I tried to get out of the situation as soon as I heard the cut. It can take a toll on you."
The series is based on Shirish Thorat’s book, A Ticket to Syria, produced by Friday Storytellers. It was created by Neeraj Pandey and directed by Bhav Dhulia and produced by Shital Bhatia. The Freelancer:The Conclusion, which was released on Disney+ Hotstar on December 15, 2023, stars actor Mohit Raina, Anupam Kher, and Kashmira Pardeshi in the key roles. Sushant Singh, John Kokken, Gauri Balaji, Navneet Malik, Manjiri Faddnis, and Sarah Jane Dias are among the actors in the series.
Meanwhile, Mohit Raina, who plays the role of Avinash Kamath in the series, is best known for his role in the mythological drama Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev. He gradually delved into the OTT realm and worked on intriguing series like Kaafir, Mumbai Diaries 26/11.
