Priyanka Chopra Congratulates Vir Das For His Emmy Win With Flowers And A Handwritten Note; See Pics

Vir Das recently brought home an International Emmy trophy. The comedian won the International Emmy Award for Comedy at the International Emmy Awards 2023. The comedian won the award for his popular Netflix special Vir Das: Landing. Now, he has shared that Priyanka Chopra sent him a handwritten note and a bouquet to commemorate his win.

Vir Das shared on X, “Thank you @priyankachopra for the flowers and for every door you’ve opened for the rest of us. You’re awesome!” The handwritten note sent along with the flowers read, “Dear Vir, wishing you huge congratulations on your Emmy win! Such a well-deserved and wonderful accomplishment! With love, Priyanka, Mary and your friends at Purple Pebble Pictures.” Purple Pebble Pictures is the name of the film production company founded by Priyanka.

Earlier, Vir had said during an interview on The Ranveer Show, “(I am) Nowhere even close to the level of Priyanka. Like Priyanka is the global Indian. I walk into a room, and there’s like ‘You’re Indian, you like Priyanka Chopra, no?’ So that is a thing now.”

Speaking about his win, Vir had said, “This moment is truly surreal – an incredible honour that feels like a dream. Winning an Emmy for ‘Vir Das: Landing’ in the ‘Comedy Category’ is not just a milestone for me but for Indian comedy as a whole. It’s heartening to see ‘Vir Das: Landing’ resonate globally, thanks to Netflix, Akash Sharma and Reg Tigerman who made it special.”
