Rachel Brosnahan Breaks Silence On Superman - Legacy At Golden Globes
Though Superman Legacy stars have kept mum about the film, Rachel Brosnahan broke her silence at the recent Golden Globes.

The search for DC Studios’ Superman: Legacy’s central duo by filmmaker James Gunn took center stage for months. When David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan were announced as the DCU’s Clark Kent and Lois Lane, the news received an overwhelmingly positive response from fans. While some complained about the departure of Henry Cavill from the Man of Steel role, Corenswet’s fit and fresh perspective garnered praise. Meanwhile, Brosnahan, recognised for her talent, is expected to bring a unique touch to the iconic character. Though the stars have kept mum about the film, Brosnahan broke her silence at the recent Golden Globes, hinting at her preparation for the role. The Marvellous Mrs Maisel actress teased insights into her role in Gunn’s upcoming 2025 film, promising a fresh take from the makers in the evolving DC Universe.

In a conversation with ExtraTV, Brosnahan said, “Well we’ve been having a lot of great conversations David and I with James Gunn the director and we’ve been talking a lot about where this project fits into the canon of the Superman’s that we know. So hopefully we’ll be putting our own stamp on things.” When questioned about whether her version of Lois will wear glasses in her attire, the actress stated, “I don’t know, actually. Maybe. We haven’t gotten that far in the fittings yet.”

David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan starrer Superman: Legacy will be the first feature film in the fresh DC Universe helmed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Before the movie, an animated series titled Creature Commandos is set to premiere in 2024. Alongside Legacy, various other films including The Authority, Andy Muschietti’s The Brave and the Bold, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and Swamp Thing are slated for release. Despite the lineup, no official release dates have been announced for these films as of now.

Apart from David as Superman and Rachel as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult will play the antagonist Lex Luthor, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher and Maria Gabriela de Faria as the Engineer.

Rachel Brosnahan was the prime contender for the role of Lois Lane, contending against strong competition from Emma Mackey and Phoebe Dynevor during the audition process. Brosnahan’s performance ultimately impressed both James Gunn and Warner Bros. executives, securing her the role. Superman: Legacy will explore not only the central characters but also introduce fresh faces. The DCU movie is scheduled to release on July 11, 2025.
