Suniel Shetty Reveals His Favourite Cricketer And It's Not Son-in-law KL Rahul
Suniel Shetty revealed that his favourite cricketer is Virat Kohli and not KL Rahul, his son-in-law.

Actor Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty married cricketer KL Rahul on January 23 this year in an elaborate three-day event. She had also dated the cricketer for four years before tying the knot to him. Thus, when Suniel Shetty recently did not take KL Rahul’s name as his favourite cricketer, netizens were left surprised. He said that Virat Kohli is his favourite cricketer.

Speaking to Niharika NM at Money Control’s Creator Economy Summit, Suniel said, “My favourite cricketer… today’s time… definitely Virat Kohli. This left Niharika surprised. She said, “Man, KL, better luck next time.” To this, the actor replied, “KL is my son, you know, when it’s family, you don’t talk about family.”

Niharika asked, “What is Ahan then?” Suniel replied, “Family. But he’s an actor, he’s not a cricketer. My favourite cricketer is Virat Kohli because he’s a master of chasing. That’s the first time that you feel when you’re at home and ‘dhak dhak’ isn’t happening.”

Earlier this week, Suniel Shetty posted a touching picture with his son-in-law, KL Rahul, on his social media profile. In the photo, both of them were dressed in matching black T-shirts, with the cricketer also wearing a sporty, black cap. The photo captured a heartwarming moment as the two share a sweet hug while posing for the camera. Although the actor didn’t pen a caption for the post, he added a black heart emoji to express his love for his son-in-law.

In an exclusive chat with News18, the Main Hoon Na actor had once spoken about working out and jamming with his son-in-law. “I train with Ahan (Shetty, son) and Rahul as much to understand their kind of training because it’s absolutely different. Athletes train on a completely different level. We, actors, train to beautify our bodies but they’re trying to take it to the next level. Fielding and batting and its speed has changed completely. Learning from him is my biggest lesson,” he says.

Meanwhile, Suniel Shetty will be returning to the iconic Hera Pheri franchise with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. The much-awaited film had made headlines over rumours and speculations of Kartik Aaryan replacing Akshay Kumar. The film will go on floors soon.
