Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most popular and longest-running shows. However, for a long time now, fans have been expressing disappointment with it because of Dayaben’s absence. While the makers have promised that the iconic character will be back soon, ‘Boycott TMKOC’ was also trending recently on social media. Following this, many were left wondering if TMKOC would also go off-air soon. However, Asit Kumarr Modi has finally broken silence on the ongoing controversy now.

Asit Kumarr Modi Answers If TMKOC Is Going Off-Air

As reported by TellyChakkar, Asit Kumarr Modi recently issued a statement in which he clarified that TMKOC is not going off-air. He also shared that the hunt for Dayaben’s character is underway. He mentioned that even though it is taking, the character will be back soon. “I’m here to entertain my audience and I will never lie to my viewers. Only due to certain circumstances, we are unable to bring Daya’s character back on time. But, that does not mean that the character is not going to enter the show at all! Whether it is Disha Vakani or someone else, the time will tell. But, it’s my promise to the audience that Daya will be back, and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is going nowhere. It is not an easy task to run a comedy show for fifteen years. It is one of a kind, which has not witnessed a single leap,” the statement read.

Dayaben Missing For 6 Years Now

Disha Vakani, who used to play the role of Daya Jethalal Gada in Asit Kumarr Modi’s show, went on indefinite maternity leave in 2017 and has not returned since then. While everyone is waiting for Daya Bhabhi’s comeback, Asit Modi has repeatedly revealed that the auditions for the role are underway. “The audience of the show has been patiently waiting to see their favourite Dayaben back on the show. The casting for the character isn’t easy and it will be a challenge for any actress to step into Disha’s shoes. We will need a brilliant performer for the part,” he told E-Times in August this year.

TMKOC Completed 15 Years Recently

TMKOC recently completed 15 years when Asit Modi made a big announcement that he would be soon bringing back fans’ favourite Dayaben. “In this journey of 15 years, a hearty congratulations to all of them. One such artist is whom we cannot forget. That artist isDaya Bhabhi aka Disha Vakani. She has entertained the fans and also made us laugh for all these years. Fans have been waiting for her to come back and I promise you all that Disha Vakani will soon be back to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” he said.
