Vijay Deverakonda Punished Himself After Liger Flopped, Said 'For The Next 3 Films, I Will Shut My Mouth'

Vijay Deverakonda is one of the most celebrated and versatile actors. He has carved a niche for himself through his acting skills. Fans love him for his mind-blowing performances. But Liger’s failure made him doubt himself. In an old interview, Vijay can be heard saying that he has punished himself as the film did not perform as expected.

An old video of Vijay has been going viral on social media. He can be heard saying, “About Liger that upset me that I didn’t see it. So, the failure of the film did not affect me so much. I was like how did you not see it that felt for me. Vijay Deverakonda when he says something it happens, he makes it happen. And I said it (Liger) would be a hit and it didn’t, so how the bloody hell did you not see us you dumb, idiot. So, that took a some time but now I have decided that for the next three films. I am somebody who speaks my mind when I think of a film as a hit I call it a blockbuster. I have decided that for the next three films, I am going to shut my mouth and let my work speak. So, it’s a self -inflicted punishment because I embarrassed myself, so I have given myself that punishment”.

Liger was released in 2022 and also starred Ananya Panday in the lead role. Directed Puri Jagannadh, the film did not impressed fans.

On the work front, Vijay will be next seen in Family Star with Mrunal Thakur. Recently, the actor announced the release date for the new film along with a new poster. Family Star will be released in theatres on April 5. Vijay will appear alongside Mrunal Thakur and Divyansha Kaushik in the film.

Last year, Vijay Deverakonda shared a teaser for the film. The clip shows a ganglord (Ajay Ghosh) informing Vijay that chopping onions and getting kids ready for school is not a sign of masculinity. Vijay is shown undertaking these chores in the teaser. He seems unconcerned by these insults and then proceeds to bend a rod and beat one of the gang members. The teaser concludes with Mrunal Thakur calling Vijay, implying a potential romance track between the two stars. In the caption, he wrote, “In every family – there is A Hero! This one is for all of you.”
