Over the years, the cases of trolling celebrities on social media have increased. From being body-shamed and fat-shamed to ridiculing their relationships, trolls have been mercilessly spewing hate at them. While a few celebrities choose not to react, there are a few who do not hold back and give a befitting response. One such actress is Ketaki Mategaonkar who hit back at the negativity and questioned their ‘freedom’ and ‘free speech’ and the kind of mental state they put someone in.
Ketaki Mategaonkar is a famous singer, songwriter, actress and performer who appears in Marathi Cinema and Hindi Album songs and made her big screen debut with Shala movie. She is known for her amazing performance in the movies Timepass, Timepass 2, Phuntroo and many others. However, on social media, the trollers have been body-shaming her and making comments regarding her weight. Her last gym video attracted a few negative comments regarding her body. The actress who has kept herself away from reacting has now finally put the trollers in their place with her latest post.

Her post started with, “Dear people who sometimes face similar body shaming like me.” She was often shamed for being thin and “wearing little girl’s clothes”. Several trollers asked her to eat more. She further stated that be it a relative, colleague or someone else, she is constantly confronted with such hate.
In the next slide, she urges others to be proud of their body as everyone is beautiful and unique. She said, “Value their uniqueness. It’s God-given.” She advised that only listen to a doctor, nutritionist or anyone qualified or parents, or friends who genuinely care about you. One should not pay heed to those who want to make one feel bad about themselves.
She wrote, “Dear trollers, the body is God’s gift to us. I’m skinny, in your language. Yes, and yet I am proud of it. “ She further continued, “Still, when I shoot for 17-18 hours without getting tired at all, it is my body that gives me the best support.”
She lashed out at the haters and asked them that trolling a woman’s body and her body parts is not “freedom” or “free speech.” She cleared that though they have become immune to trolling, the artists are end of the day “human too.” “We cut and bleed just like others. We do get hurt too,” she wrote. She finally questioned the trollers to imagine what kind of mental state they put a person in. Ketaki Mategaonkar urges them to “be a little kind and loving. Have some empathy and compassion.” At the end of the post, she also attached a few screenshots of the hate comments she received.
