Pakistan Cricket is going through a troublesome phase with too many controversies all around. While the cricket team in India is on the verge of getting knocked out of the World Cup, the cricket board back home is dealing with different issues almost every day. At the same time, the former cricketers are up with their opinions, including allegations on PCB for poor management.
Recently, former captain Rashid Latif made a sensational statement that PCB chief Zaka Ashraf isn’t responding to Babar Azam’s calls and messages. On Monday, the Pakistan captain’s WhatsApp chat got leaked and was aired on national television. Later in the day, chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq stepped down from his post following Pakistan’s recent performance in the tournament putting him under the scanners.

Amid the ongoing commotion, a senior Pakistan cricketer has made some serious revelations. Speaking with Cricbuzz on condition of anonymity, the player has said the PCB doesn’t want the team to win the World Cup.
“The board wants the team to fail, they don’t want us to win the World Cup just so that they can make the changes and take control of who leads the team and who gets into the team,” Cricbuzz quoted the player as saying.
A Tough Way Ahead
Team director Mickey Arthur is very well aware of what lies ahead. It’s going to be a massive uproar when the team returns home after a disappointing World Cup campaign but Arthur didn’t say much about it after Pakistan’s defeat at the hands of South Africa.
“They (PCB) are going to be blaming everybody, don’t worry. It’s just the way of the world… It’s really unfair to start a witch hunt, certainly on Babar Azam, on Inzi, on our coaches, on the management team.
“What I do know is the boys have tried and the effort of the coaching staff, and the effort of the players has been first-class. If they would see the amount of effort that the players and staff put in, they would be amazed,” Arthur said.
Inzamam opens up on his resignation
As per reports, Inzamam had a stake in the player’s management company that handles Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan among others which is a major conflict of interest considering the former captain’s position as the chief of the selection committee.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed a five-member fact-finding committee to look into the allegations against Inzamam.
But according to Dawn.com, Inzamam said he asked PCB to hold an enquiry into the allegations
“Later I got a call that they had formed a five-member committee,” Inzamam was quoted as saying by the publication.
“We are cricketers and we are available all the time to serve the country. Since I am facing an inquiry, and as the nature of my job is, I should step down and let them conduct the probe,” he added.
