Watch: Trent Boult Imitates Sanju Samson During World Cup 2023 Warm-up, Fans Love it
Some fans were heard shouting the famous Rajasthan Royals slogan ‘Halla Bol’ and Trent Boult responded with a memorable gesture.

New Zealand pacer Trent Boult won a million hearts fans after imitating his Rajasthan Royals teammate Sanju Samson. In a footage, which has now gone viral on social media, Boult can be seen imitating Samson’s signature shot while facing the crowd present in the Indian cricketer’s hometown. The incident took place during New Zealand’s ODI World Cup warm-up match against South Africa held at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday. The clip was shared on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. The post read, “Trent Boult imitates Sanju Samson”.

Boult and Samson have had an amicable bonding due to their association with Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Their friendship has been perfectly showcased in the now-viral clip.

During the second innings of the warm-up fixture between New Zealand and South Africa, Boult was spotted fielding in the deep fine leg region. Some fans were heard shouting the famous Rajasthan Royals slogan, ‘Halla Bol’ and it did not take too much time for Boult to notice the chants.

He immediately turned towards the stands and imitated the Rajasthan Royals’ captain Samson, sparking a huge cheer from the crowd.

Boult had previously declined a central contract last year and did not feature for New Zealand since their 3-0 defeat to Australia last September. The 34-year-old shook off his rust after making a return to ODI cricket against England earlier last month in Cardiff. Since then, he also featured in New Zealand’s bilateral series against Bangladesh which the Kiwis won 2-0.

In their first warm-up game against Pakistan, New Zealand recorded a resounding victory after chasing down a total of 346 runs with five wickets to spare. It was Rachin Ravindra who led his side’s batting, scoring 97 runs off 72 balls for the Kiwis. In their second game against South Africa, New Zealand managed a narrow seven-run victory (DLS method). Trent Boult was in good form in that game as he scalped two wickets in five overs while giving away only 20 runs. The Kiwis have won both of their warm-up games and will next be facing England at the World Cup on October 5.
