Virat Kohli was seen taking out his frustrations in the dressing room as the 34-year-old was dismissed on a duck for the first time in 56 World Cup innings.

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli was furious with himself after registering his career first duck in World Cups (ODI and T20) against England in Lucknow on Sunday. The Men in Blue faced off against England at the Ekana Stadium looking to reclaim the top spot in ODI World Cup 2023 points table, as they squared off against the defending champions.

Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bowl first, after which the Indian team got off to a shaky start, losing three early wickets. Shubman Gill could only score 9 runs before getting castled by Chris Woakes as Virat came out to bat.

The 34-year-old played 8 balls but failed to open his account, on the ninth delivery, Kohli stepped out of the crease but was deceived by the short ball from David Willey.

He ended up sending the ball high in the air before Ben Stokes completed an easy catch at mid-off. Thus, Virat Kohli was dismissed on a duck for the first time in 56 innings in the World Cups, including both ODIs and T20s.

India were reeling for 27/2 when the talismanic batter was dismissed and Kohli wasn’t happy at all with his dismissal. After making his way into the dressing room, Virat was seen taking out his frustrations after taking a seat in the dugout.

The Hitman’s knock ensured that India got past the 150-run mark, even though he narrowly missed out on a well-deserved century, falling shy by 13 runs.
