As the wedding season approaches, the latest fashion trends reveal a fusion of tradition and contemporary styles. Bridal attire showcases a mix of modern silhouettes with traditional embellishments, offering brides a range of choices. Sustainable and locally sourced fabrics are gaining popularity, aligning with a growing consciousness towards ethical fashion. Personalized touches, from custom embroidery to unique accessories, add a distinctive flair to bridal ensembles, making the upcoming wedding season a celebration of individuality. Here’s Sakshi Sinha, Chief Product Officer, Saundh sharing the latest wedding trends to watch out for in 2023:
What are the latest trends that the brides-to-be can look into?
Conscious fashion has impacted wedding preferences where brides and their families are staying away from heavily embellished outfits that are unlikely to be worn again. Instead, they are embracing a fail-safe approach with comfortable choices which not only allows them to immerse fully in joyous celebration but also gives them a chance to “repeat, reuse and re-wear” their wedding outfits.
How does the brand stay updated with current fashion trends?
With new trends popping up every day every brand needs to be at par with changing fashion dynamics and emerging trends social media, runways, following fashion bloggers, frequent market surveys, reading, revisiting some old classic archives, and studying fashion forecasts from WGSN are one of the quickest ways to get a pulse on what’s hot in the fashion world. However, trends are not rules. Saundh believes in staying informed about emerging trends in fashion and blending them with our unique style to create what’s relevant and in sync with brand sensibilities.
Highlight the recent shift towards lighter and more functional wedding trousseau
With couples opting for daytime ceremonies instead of traditional evening-to-morning festivities. This shift fosters a shift in their attire as well. One can now see a shift from shimmer and heavily embellished pieces to more festive prints. From floral lehengas to ones with geometric patterns & chevrons, from classic reds being replaced by pastel palettes or earthy tones. Brides are ready to experiment with asymmetric cuts and details from one shoulder or high-low flare adding a touch of modernity and sophistication to their look. The overall attire is also toned down as the bride herself wants to enjoy her big day! And opts for a look that blends with her personal style more. The Trousseau collection is seen with a lot of short length lehenga, fun crop top skirts, asymmetric one-should kaftans, and so on.
