DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE:

This Scheduled Caste Assembly constituency has an estimated Scheduled Caste population of 26.71% and an estimated Scheduled Tribe population of 0.27%, according to the report of the Delimitation Commission, 2008. In 2012, Dr Ajay Kumar of SP emerged victorious in this seat beating Bholanath Chaudhary of BSP by a margin of 3,756 votes which was 2.18% of the total votes polled in the constituency. SP had a vote share of 26.75% in the seat.
