BJP lost 2004 elections due to over confidence: Ananth Kumar
He said this time the BJP had the advantage of Narendra Modi's leadership and general atmosphere against the UPA.

Bhopal: BJP General Secretary and Bangalore South candidate Ananth Kumar on Friday said that his party, which was driven by feel good and India shining in 2004, lost the General elections due to over confidence. "The BJP was in power in 2004 and despite delivering good governance, the party lost the election only because of over confidence", he said while replying to a query regarding the comparison of pre-poll scene in 2004 and 2014 Lok sabha elections.

He said this time the BJP had the advantage of Narendra Modi's leadership and general atmosphere against the UPA's 10 years regime because of its mis-governance.

He also added that there was not only a Modi wave in BJP-ruled states but also a separate wave of Chief Minister of that particular state. "Madhya Pradesh also has a Shivraj Singh Chouhan wave, Rajasthan a Vasundhara wave, Chhattisgarh a Raman Singh wave and Goa a Parrikar wave," Kumar said.
