Cong losing identity in national politics: Badal
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said days are numbered for the Congress led Government.

Amritsar: The recent drubbing of Congress in Delhi's municipal elections connotes that the party is losing its identity in the nation's politics, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday said.

"The recent Delhi Municipal Corporation results proved that in the near future Congress roots would exist no more in the nation's politics as people have started disliking it," Badal said.

Days are numbered for the Congress led Government, Badal said.

When asked about the positions and jurisdiction of the newly appointed chief parliamentary secretaries, Badal said they are the right arms of cabinet ministers and would play a key role in sorting out problems of the masses.

Talking about good governance, the chief minister said bureaucrats would remain available in the service of people on every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and the working of public servants in all the districts of Punjab will be monitored from Chandigarh by senior officers.

Badal said he had utmost faith in the 'langar' (community feast) tradition and would encourage the party MLA's to come in the community kitchen of Golden Temple with the group of people of their respective constituencies for 'SEWA'.

He also paid obeisance at the Golden Temple to thank Almighty for his party's success in the recently held assembly election which enabled Shiromani Akali Dal to form Government in Punjab.

He was given Saropa by Sikh priest and attended Akhand Path Bhog held in the memory of his late wife Surinder Kaur Badal.
