New Delhi: The Gujarat Congress staged a mock assembly session at the Town Hall in Ahmedabad on Monday to protest the Speaker not allowing a debate in the Assembly on the hooch tragedy.
Wearing masks of Speaker Ashok Bhatt, Chief Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders, a mock assembly session was played out to a packed audience.
The Congress has been organising these mock assembly sessions in every district headquarter. Congress MLAs have also met and made representations to the President, Lok Sabha Speaker and the state governor over the law and order situation in Gujarat.
Leader of Opposition Shaktisinh Gohil has reportedly said that the regular suspension of its members from the House proceedings on different occasions during the ongoing session was an attempt to prevent the Opposition from raising its voice.
