Mayawati filed a petition in May 2008 seeking quashing of the CBI probe against her in the case citing political vendetta.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday reserved its order on BSP supremo Mayawati's plea challenging CBI probe in the disproportionate assets case lodged against her over eight years ago.
The CBI during earlier hearings had said there was "ample evidence" to show Mayawati had amassed wealth disproportionate to her known sources of income.
She filed a petition in May 2008 seeking quashing of the criminal proceedings against her in the case alleging it was an act of political vendetta. She claimed she had received the money through donations from party workers.
The CBI had questioned Mayawati's assets saying her declared assets of Rs one crore in 2003 had gone up to Rs 50 crore in 2007.
