New Delhi: Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has warned power distribution companies in Delhi to allow audit of their accounts or else their licences would be cancelled. Jung made the statement on Monday while addressing the Delhi Assembly.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has already spoken to CAG about auditing the power companies.
While addressing the Assembly, Jung presents the government's 17-point agenda including its plans on power, water, school, subsidy to farmers and government policies related to VAT.
Kejriwal had already presented the agenda during the vote of confidence motion. The agenda also seeks to eliminate the VIP culture, bring a strong Janlokpal and Swaraj in the city state.
In his 11-minute address Jung also said that the electric meters will also be examined.
He added that more than 500 government schools would be opened in Delhi while no minister would use red beacons or special security. The government would take steps to end corruption in various departments and donations in nursery admissions. Regularisation of unauthorised colonies will take place within a year, said Jung.
