Kannur: Dogs have now become victims of political rivalry in Kerala. Three dogs with their throats slit were hung by the neck from an electric pole in Kannur district.

The horrific incident took place close to the spot where a Sangh worker was murdered exactly a year ago.

The Sangh has accused the CPM of the murder alleging that the dog hanging was meant to dishonour the memory of its worker on the first anniversary of his killing.

The CPM has suggested the Sangh may have done it to provoke tensions.

Kannur, Kasargode and Thrissur have been witnessing clashes since a BJP worker and a CPM cadre were killed on August 28.
