Panaji: The 2017 Goa assembly elections will be a fight between the AAP and the BJP and the Congress will get completely eliminated just like in the last Delhi assembly polls, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday.
"The Congress stands nowhere in these polls. This is a straight fight between the BJP and the AAP. You take it in writing from me, the Congress will not get a single seat in Goa, just like Delhi," Kejriwal said at 'Goa Dialogues' meet in Quepem, 50 km south of Panaji.
"You should not waste your vote by giving it to the Congress."
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader said corruption in the BJP-ruled Goa was worse than levels of corruption during the Congress regime and that Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and his predecessor Manohar Parrikar had cheated the people.
"People trusted Parrikar and all of them are feeling cheated now. They now believe that the BJP is even worse than the Congress. Those who want to vote for the BJP, please re-think. BJP cannot provide hope or future for Goa," Kejriwal said.
Drug trade and consumption was a huge problem in Goa, which could not flourish without political patronage, he said.
"Drugs cannot be sold even for a day if it does not have political support. Drugs business survives only because of political support."
"When drug money fills the pockets of the politicians, they instruct the police to go slow. If CM takes drug money, then drug trade flourishes. If CM does not take drug money, the business cannot survive. Vote for an honest party," Kejriwal said.
