Srinagar/New Delhi: The People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday escalated the row over its wrong map of Jammu and Kashmir.
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti took a potshot at the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram while saying India seemed afraid of china.
"My request to him is that he should be more focused on incursions that are taking place in Ladakh...Do some thing about it and not being bullied by China. I think people in New Delhi are being bullied by China so they don't want to talk about the territory illegally occupied by China. People in Delhi are afraid of China, they do question Pakistan but not China," said Mufti.
Mufti hit back at the Centre a day after she was criticised for the wrong map displayed by the PDP during a power point presentation on Saturday that showed Aksai Chin painted in red and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in green.
The depiction of the map was seen as an acceptance of the occupation of these areas by the respective countries.
Responding to the controversy over the PDP map, which shows Aksai Chin as part of China, Chidambaram sternly said on Saturday that the government will see what needs to be done if the map was not a mistake.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also flayed the PDP on Sunday for its controversial map of the state, saying "gifting away" of state's territory will be not be acceptable.
Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari, in reply to Mufti's salvo at Chidambaram, said, "PDP would be well advised to withdraw this map with immediate effect".
