Kadapa: YSR Congress has hit out at ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh, saying it is creating problems for their President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is facing CBI probe over his assets and investments by companies in his business entities.
Under the guise CBI probe, the Congress is trying to create problems for Jagan. People of the state are unhappy over reported naming of YSR Reddy, late father of Jagan, in an FIR filed by CBI, YSR Congress leader Konda Surekha said.
"If unforeseen circumstances prevail around YSR Congress President Jagan Mohan Reddy, his mother and YSR's widow YS Vijayamma will lead the party," the former Andhra Pradesh Minister said.
She was speaking to reporters in Kadapa on Friday after paying tributes to YSR on his second death anniversary.
Surekha lambasted Andhra Pradesh Congress President Bosta Satyanarayana, who led a signature campaign to make Jagan the Chief Minister after the demise of YSR in 2009.
The Congress leaders, who were loyal to YSR when he was alive, are now criticising him and levelling baseless charges against him and his son. This is unfortunate, she said.
Surekha said 26 pro-Jagan MLAs, who have resigned in protest against YSR's name figuring in the FIR, will retain their seats with thumping majority if bypolls are held.
