In 2013, Chunni Lal Sahu of BJP won the seat by a margin of 5,999 votes (3.9%). Chunni Lal Sahu secured 38.1% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 22,505 votes (18.16%), registering 53.33% of the total votes polled.
