111. Merta is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Rajasthan and is part of Rajsamand Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Merta falls in Nagaur district and West region of Rajasthan. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,50,828 voters in the seat, which includes 1,30,757 male voters, and 1,20,071 female voters. In the 2018 Rajasthan elections, Merta recorded a voter turnout of 70.75%. In 2013 the turnout was 66.98%, and in 2008 it was 55.4%.
In 2013, Sukharam of BJP won the seat by a margin of 35,549 votes (24.12%). Sukharam secured 52.97% of the total votes polled.
BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 24,040 votes (21.52%), registering 52.35% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP led in the Merta Assembly segment of the Rajsamand Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
