New Delhi: AAP on Monday lashed out at the BJP- led municipal corporations in Delhi, terming them "Most- Corrupt Departments" amidst reports that the civic agencies have ranked towards the bottom in a survey conducted as part of the Swachh Bharat campaign.

With the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) figuring at 16th on the list in the study done by the Ministry of Urban Development, the party also made a jibe saying it was because "khaas aadmi", including the Prime Minister, reside there.

AAP has often alleged that the MCDs in Delhi, which are controlled by BJP, have become the "den of corruption".

"This is a matter of shame for us. The CAG report tabled in the Assembly on June 30 also said that its contract management is so bad that despite spending crores of rupees... common man cannot use the toilets. It also said that MCD has no planning for solid waste management, how to de-silt the drainage and clean the toilets.

"In November, 2014, Delhi High Court had said that MCDs of the national capital are doing the opposite when the Prime Minister had undertaken the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in these civic agencies," said AAP MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj.

BJP is trying to blame the AAP government for the mess, the party said.

AAP spokesperson Raghav Chadda further said, "The survey was done from 2014-15 and, for most of that time, AAP was not in power.

"The report also states that the NDMC, where many influential people stay in Lutyens Delhi, including the Prime Minister, ranks 16th. However, when it comes to East, North and South (Delhi), the ranking falls to 398. So, where the khaas aadmi stays, the ranking is good, but ranking is bad where the aam aadmi stays,".

Keeping up the tirade, AAP leader Ashutosh said, "BJP has been controlling the MCDs for over nine years now. They are passing the buck on to the state government and do not want to take the blame," he said.
