New Delhi: The Shiv Sena questioned the need of the Lokpal Bill in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Shiv Sena leader Anant Geete questioned, "Who will be the Lokpal? Someone like us, a citizen of India. Who will give gurantee about his integrity?"
He also criticised bringing the Prime Minister under the ambit of the Lokpal saying, "Why are they lowering the dignity of the Prime Minister's office?"
Calling the Lokpal Bill unconstitutional, Geete said, "The government also agrees that what they are doing is unconstitutional."
Taking on Anna Hazare's protests, Geete said, "We are not against anyone's protest against corruption. But we cannot destroy democracy in the name of protests."
"Have the four pillars of democracy decayed that we now need a fifth pillar," he questioned.
