37. Surkhi is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Sagar Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Surkhi falls in Sagar district and Vindhya Pradesh region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 1,92,825 voters in the seat, which includes 1,05,169 male voters, and 87,655 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Surkhi recorded a voter turnout of 75.48%. In 2013 the turnout was 73.93%, and in 2008 it was 74.05%.
In 2013, Parul Sahu Kesari of BJP won the seat by a margin of 141 votes (0.1%). Parul Sahu Kesari secured 43.62% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 12,438 votes (11.38%), registering 50.29% of the total votes polled.
