Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's son and Telugu Desam Party's general secretary, Nara Lokesh, is all set to make his way into the State Cabinet via the Legislative Council.

The TDP Politbureau members proposed name of Lokesh to be elected as an MLC under the party’s quota. The Legislative Council Elections are scheduled to be held on March 20th.

Thanking his party, Lokesh, tweeted, "Heartfelt thanks to TDP Politburo for believing in my capabilities & proposing my name as MLC. It is an opportunity to serve people closely."

Calling the move as shortcut to ministerial post, the opposition has slammed Lokesh for not contesting election. Speaking to CNN news 18, YSRCP state secretary Rajiv Krishna said, "TDP is trying to project Lokesh as heir to party. If so, then he should get elected by the people.”

“Even people like KTR or Akhilesh Yadav, they fought elections. The message is clear that they are scared to face people. Ruling TDP has picked wrong route for Lokesh, in his first step in democratic process,” ha added.

After coming to power, this is the first time Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will reshuffle the cabinet. Apart from inclusion of Lokesh in Cabinet, many big changes are expected where Minister's may face the axe.
