Tomar to be taken to Bhagalpur for further questioning in fake degree case today
Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi law minister Jitender Singh Tomar will on Thursday be taken to Bhagalpur in Bihar, where he procured his alleged fake law degree from.

A day after being taken to Faizabad for questioning, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi law minister Jitender Singh Tomar will on Thursday be taken to Bhagalpur in Bihar, where he procured his alleged fake law degree from.

Tomar will first be taken to Patna from Faizabad and will then proceed to Bhagalpur by road. The AAP leader received his alleged fake law degree from Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University.

This comes a day after the police interrogated Tomar in Faizabad, where he got his alleged fake B Sc degree from Awadh University.

The Delhi Police have said that they are investigating the possibility of a bigger fake degree racket in the backdrop of Tomar’s degree row. At least 50 witnesses in Faizabad and Munger are said to have told the Delhi Police that they have fake degrees.

Tomar, MLA from Trinagar in Delhi, has, however, maintained that his degrees are not fake and that he would fight the case on merit. Following his arrest, the AAP leader was remanded to four-day police custody by a Delhi court for allegedly forging his science graduation, law mark sheets and migration certificate. Tomar had resigned as the law minister of Delhi after his arrest.

Investigators said that an FIR was registered and the Law Minister was arrested after nearly a month-long investigation established that the documents he submitted in 2011 to register with the Bar Council of Delhi were fake.
