Woman Gives CM Siddaramaiah a Peck on the Cheek, Says 'Nothing Wrong'

Bengaluru: A woman placed a peck on Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's cheek at a public meeting in Bengaluru on Sunday.

It was a felicitation programme for the Kuruba community public representatives organised by the caste to which Siddaramaiah belongs to.

After he felicitated her, Girija Srinivas a Taluk Panchayat member from Tarikere in Chikmagalur district gave a peck to Siddaramaiah on his right cheek leaving him visibly embarrassed.

Even before he could react, she disappeared from the stage.

Speaking to local media, the woman said, "He (Siddaramaiah) is like my father. I met him for the first time. I could not control the excitement. I kissed him. Nothing wrong in it."

Srinivas said she belonged to Siddaramaiah's assembly seat Varuna in Mysore district and is now married to a man from Chikmagalur district.
