Lucknow: Demanding Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's resignation for allegedly failing to check the law and order situation in the state, Youth Congress on Thursday said it would launch an agitation soon at the tehsil level for uprooting the BSP government.
Incidents like murder and rape have become order of the day in Uttar Pradesh and an agitation at the tehsil level would be launched to uproot this government, All India Youth Congress president Rajiv Satav said at a meeting of Congress office bearers of the central zone.
Stressing that the mysterious death of of deputy Chief Medical Officer YS Sachan, who was an accused in CMO BP Singh murder case, in the jail on Wednesday appeared to be murder, Satav said it was not possible without the connivance of the government and demanded a CBI inquiry into it.
The Youth Congress leader said chief minister who has failed to check the deteriorating law and order situation should immediately resign.
MP Sanjay Singh who was present in the meeting said for the success of the party's mission 2012, Youth Congress workers would have to become active upto the booth level for which a strategy would have to be worked out.
"We can be successful with at least 10 dedicated youth workers at the booth level," Singh said.
All India Youth Congress general secretary Virendra Rathore said the aim of the outfit is not confined to just organisational elections but would be achieved with the formation of party's government in Uttar Pradesh.
