Actress Sujitha Dhanush Pens Emotional Note For Late Brother And Director Surya Kiran
Surya Kiran was one of the prominent names in the Telugu film industry who embarked on his career as a child actor with the Malayalam film Snehikkan Oru Pennu in 1978.

Telugu child actor-turned-filmmaker Surya Kiran, known for directing films such as Satyam and Dhana 51, died at his Chennai residence on March 11 at 48. As per reports, he succumbed to jaundice after undergoing treatment at Chennai’s GEM hospital.

Actress and Surya’s sister Sujitha Dhanush uploaded a post on Instagram regarding her brother’s demise and wrote, “Cheta. rest in peace. Not just my brother, but my father and hero, cease. I admire you for your talent and speech, In many ways, your presence did reach. If rebirth holds true, May all your dreams and achievements anew pursue.”

Sujitha uploaded pictures of her and Surya posing for the cameras amidst the backdrop of natural surroundings. Sujitha’s son is also visible in one of the photos. She attached the song Oru Koottu from the film Padikkathavan to the pictures.

Surya Kiran was one of the prominent names in the Telugu film industry who embarked on his career as a child actor with the Malayalam film Snehikkan Oru Pennu in 1978. He then went on to act in over 200 feature films and made his directorial debut with the Telugu romantic drama Satyam (2003). Satyam was one of the significant milestones in his career as it was a super hit and ran in theatres for over 150 days. This film starred Sumanth and Genelia Deshmukh.

Later, he directed several other films including Brahmastram (2007), Raju Bhai (2007), and Chapter 6 (2010). Surya also participated in Bigg Boss Telugu season 4 but was the first contestant to get eliminated from the reality show. Surya originally hailed from Kerala and was previously married to actress Kalyani but they parted ways soon.

Surya’s acting legacy is carried by his sister and the actress Sujitha who has garnered accolades for her role in the Pandian Stores. She has bagged many awards for her acting skills in the categories Nandi Award for Best Child Artist in 1987, Vijay TV Awards for Best Supporting Actress, etc. She was propelled to fame amongst Tamil TV viewers with her exemplary acting skills in the serial Oru Pennin Kathai.
