AR Rahman And Prabhu Deva Join Forces After 25 Years; Music Maestro Unveils ARRPD6 Poster
The two veterans in their respective fields AR Rahman and Prabhu Deva are all set to work together after 25 years.

After a hiatus of 25 years, the renowned AR Rahman and the iconic dancer Prabhu Deva are teaming up once again for a cinematic project. Currently known as ARRPD6, this film is a creative endeavor by writer and director Manoj NS. The announcement was made by Rahman himself on Friday, 22 March, alongside the unveiling of the movie’s poster.

The poster that was shared by the music maestro, featured a memorable image of Prabhu Deva from the “Muqabla” song, with a golden silhouette of Rahman set against the sky in the background.

The cast of ARRPD6 includes Prabhu Deva, Yogi Babu, along with Malayalam actors Aju Varghese and Arjun Ashokan taking on prominent roles. Actors Motta Rajendran and Redin Kingsley will also appear in the film.

Produced by Manoj NS, Divya Manoj, and Dr. Praveen Elak, the movie is brought to the forefront by Behindwoods. Rahman is crafting the film’s music, while Anup V Shylaya is responsible for its cinematography. Filming is set to begin shortly, marking the sixth collaboration between Rahman and Prabhu Deva.

The duo’s earlier works, such as their music and dance combinations in the 1990s, are still celebrated. Hits from the Tamil movie Kadhalan (1994), including Muqabla and Urvashi, became phenomenal successes. These songs, alongside their dubbed versions in Hindi and Telugu, dominated the charts and inspired a generation to emulate Prabhu Deva’s dynamic dance moves.

Their noteworthy collaborations, like Chiku Buku Raile from Gentleman (1993), Romeo Aatam from Mr Romeo (1996), and Petta Rap from Kadhalan, led the music charts for years.

Currently, Rahman’s compositions for Prithviraj Sukumaran’s awaited movie Aadujeevitham have gained significant attention online, ahead of its release on 29 March in multiple languages.

Prabhu Deva is also engaged with Vishnu Manchu’s upcoming movie Kannappa. He has recently returned from New Zealand after shooting a song and several important scenes for the film.
