Manjummel Boys Reminded Me Of My Late Brother: Director Shaji Kailas
Director Shaji Kailas, who recently watched the film, congratulated the whole team of Manjummel Boys and has penned a long note.

After the huge success of the 2021 movie Jan. E. Man. director Chidambaram Poduval returned to the silver screen with the survival thriller film Manjummel Boys. It was released in the theatres on February 22 and is gaining highly positive reviews from audiences and critics alike.

Meanwhile, director Shaji Kailas, who recently watched the film, congratulated the whole team of Manjummel Boys and has penned a long note sharing that the movie has brought back thoughts of his elder brother who died in an accident while returning from a trip. In the post, Shaji wrote, “Manjummel Boys is a green expression of that life that falls apart. It is a personal memory for me."

“I was in 10th grade. One day some people came to the house looking for my father. I then noticed my father leave the house in a hurry with them. I didn’t understand anything. After a while, a small crowd formed in the backyard. It slowly began to grow. Father came back late. My father hugged me and cried. My father is crying for the first time, in front of me. My eyes were also filled with tears. I understand the information later. My elder brother who went on tour with his friends while coming down from Malakand, slipped and fell into a dam."

Talking about the movie, Babu Shahir, Soubin Shahir, and Shawn Antony backed Manjummel Boys together for Parava Films (this is their first project together). The film is based on a real-life event, the narrative centres on a group of friends whose vacation takes an unexpected turn when one of them becomes trapped in the Guna Cave.

The movie features Arun Kurian, Khalid Rahman, Chandu Salimkumar, Vishnu Reghu, Lal Jr., Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S Poduval, Soubin Shahir, and Deepak Parambol in the lead roles. The music was composed by Sushin Shyam.
