Why Makers Of HanuMan Attended The Film's Press Meet Without Shoes
HanuMan will be released not just in Indian languages but in foreign languages as well.

The makers of the Telugu superhero film, HanuMan, which is infused with mythological elements, have strategically timed its release to coincide with the grand consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Scheduled to hit theatres on January 12, just ten days before the consecration ceremony, the film aims to capture the essence of this auspicious occasion. Teja Sajja takes on the lead role in this pan-India venture directed by Prashanth Varma, marking his first foray into the national cinematic landscape. HanuMan is not limited to Indian languages but will also be released in foreign languages, including English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese.

A recent press meet for the film in Chennai added a touch of reverence to the proceedings. As the trailer played in the background, a gesture of respect was observed as none of the participants on stage wore shoes. Sakthivelan from Sakthi Film Factory, the company responsible for releasing HanuMan in Tamil Nadu, highlighted this unique display of respect. The lead actors, including Vinay, who plays the antagonist, Varalakshmi, in a significant role, lead actress Amrita Iyer, presenter Chaitanya, and others, participated in the press meet, adhering to this tradition.

Vinay expressed his sentiments about the film, stating, “It started as an icon. But with the blessings of Hanuman, the film has become the biggest film in India.” Lead actress Amritha Iyer clarified that HanuMan is not a spiritual film but narrates the story of a boy bestowed with powers by Lord Hanuman.

The film is set to face competition from other releases, including Guntur Kaaram, starring Mahesh Babu, and Captain Miller, starring Dhanush. The ensuing battle for screen time among these films has led to conflicts among cinema owners in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Set in the fictional village of Anjanadri, HanuMan serves as the inaugural instalment of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, followed by Adhira.

Director Prashanth Varma shed light on the movie, emphasising the challenges faced by Teja’s character, who has a sister played by Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and a girlfriend portrayed by Amritha Aiyer. The plot unfolds as the protagonist gains strength from Lord Hanuman, navigating through various obstacles. Prashanth Varma revealed that it took three years from the conception of the idea to bring the film closer to its eagerly anticipated release.
