Apple iPhone X, HomePod Enter The Vintage List: Here’s What It Means
Apple continues to bring its old devices to this popular list which means it is time to upgrade and buy the new, shinier models.

Apple brings more products to its popular vintage list and now it is the turn of the iPhone X, the first HomePod and AirPods to enter this section. Apple’s categories like vintage and obsolete are the right way to help people know that their devices are losing official support and eventually will stop getting parts available.

The iPhone X was the first big change from the company in years, introducing the notch and Face ID tech by removing the Touch ID technology altogether. Adding the iPhone X to the vintage list means the product has been taken off the market for 5 years but less than 7 years. iPhone X was introduced in 2017, so if you are still using this model, you will not be getting any more iOS updates from Apple, while the parts for the model will be available latest till 2025.

The second product added to the list is the HomePod, first-gen model. Apple entered the smart speaker segment with its device that was powered by Siri and offered high-quality audio experience by integrating with Apple Music and other apps. The HomePod also came out in 2017 and since then, we have seen limited focus on the category from the company. Many claim Apple will bring a new HomePod with display and other features next year, but for now, the first-gen model is headed to the vintage list.

And finally, you have the first-ever AirPods also part of the special clan for Apple. Launched in 2016, the AirPods have truly changed the wireless audio market, so much that we now have similar designs coming at a pocket-friendly $50 price range for buyers. The AirPods going to the vintage list also suggests Apple needs to pull out a long-over due upgrade for these TWS earbuds at the earliest.
