Apple is offering a new update for its iOS 9 mobile operating system aimed at all devices launched since the iPhone 4s, the iPad 2 and the 5th generation iPod touch. It includes numerous security fixes and some improvements to Apple Music.
This iOS 9.2 update provides some additions that will be appreciated by Apple Music subscribers, such as playlist management and making it easier to sync your iCloud Music Library. It also offers brand new features for Siri (support for Arabic), Mail (sending large attachments), iBooks (it now supports 3D Touch technology) and News (available only in the US, UK and Australia). It promises improved stability for Safari and Podcasts and numerous security fixes.
The update can be downloaded either via iTunes if your device is connected to your computer, or directly on your mobile phone via Settings > General > Software update.
At the same time, Apple is rolling out a new update for watchOS (2.1) which is focused on security fixes and supporting more languages.
And lastly, Apple has released a new update to Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), delivering fixes for WiFi and Bluetooth, Handoff (which makes it easy to switch work between devices), AirDrop (used for transferring files between devices) and iCloud Photos.
